Licensing Servers
Prerequisites
- Access Level: Admin, Super-admin.

Access the Licensing Servers in the Management
- Go to the Management icon in the top left taskbar.
- Navigate to the Virtual Machines section.
- Click the Licensing Servers in the left panel.
- In the list, view the existing licensing servers' name, ports, protocol, active status, group, deactivation, creator and creation date.
View the Basic Information of a Licensing Server
- Go to the Management icon in the top left taskbar.
- Navigate to the Virtual Machines section.
- Click the Licensing Servers in the left panel.
- Select the licensing server to view basic information.
- Click the View button in the top right panel.
- In the left panel, under Basic Info subsection, view the licensing server, ports, owner, group and creation date.
Create a New Licensing Server
- Go to the Management icon in the top left taskbar.
- Navigate to the Virtual Machines section.
- Click the Licensing Servers in the left panel.
- Click the Create new licensing server button in the top right panel.
- In the pop-up, enter the server domain or IPv4 address.
- Click the Add button next to add them.
- Enter the optional ports between
1
and65,535
. - Under Protocol, select TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) or UDP (User Datagram Protocol).
- Under Group (optional), enter the group from the list associated with the licensing server.
- Under Deactivate On (optional), specify the licensing server expiration date.
- Click Register new servers.
note
- Use TCP for reliability over speed; it is slower but more reliable, making it suitable for critical license transactions.
- Use UDP for speed over delivery, faster but might lose data, for lightweight license updates.
- Groups in licensing servers are simple metadata tags that assist with resource management.
- The expiration date helps manage licenses and prevents work disruptions caused by expired software.
tip
You should use both TCP and UDP for maximum efficiency.
Re-Sync Rules in a Licensing Server

- Go to the Management icon in the top left taskbar.
- Navigate to the Virtual Machines section.
- Click the Licensing Servers in the left panel.
- Click the Re-sync Rules button in the top right panel.
Refresh View of a Licensing Server

- Navigate to the Virtual Machines section.
- Click the Licensing Servers in the left panel.
- Click the Refresh button in the top right panel.
Delete an Existing Licensing Server

- Go to the Management icon in the top left taskbar.
- Navigate to the Virtual Machines section.
- Click the Licensing Servers in the left panel.
- Select the licensing server(s) to delete.
- Click the Delete button in the top right corner.
- In the prompt, click Delete licensing servers.

Deleting a licensing server will permanently revoke your access to it.
